Piano Lessons and Music Therapy

Piano lessons are an excellent way to both enjoy a learned musical skill and to address any goals of the client.  Higher  self esteem, increased focus, decreased anxiety, and positive interaction are all natural goals of piano lessons in music therapy.  Piano lessons in music therapy are appropriate for anyone who would benefit from a therapetic approach to learning.  Children should be at least 5 years of age to begin.  Adult piano students are especially welcomed as a therapeutic approach to music learning often lessens the anxiety of learning something new in adulthood.  Song writing and music improvisation and also offered in piano lessons and music therapy.  Composing a song with the therapist and learning to play one's own song is a valued therapeutic goal for any client!  All levels- beginner, intermediate, or advanced- are encouraged to learn with enjoyment.
